Sky Watch Friday

Click on the photos to see them at their best.

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, July 16, 2023
We had cloudy skies for our trip to Pickwick last Sunday afternoon. The elevated roadway is the Tennessee River bridge across Pickwick Dam, a hydroelectric power dam. That is part of the powerhouse in the lower left corner of the photo.

The birds in the tree are Cormorants.

Happy Friday!

I am linking in today with Skywatch Friday

  3. Cormorants have become a nuisance in some areas here as they gather in such huge numbers which has an effect on trees etc.

  6. Pretty photos. I'm not used to seeing cormorants in trees. Usually out on the rocks at the beach.

  9. That's really something! I've only seen cormorants in sea caves on the coast of N. California. Going, in and out of them, and in them. I never thought of them as tree perchers. For all I know they are different kinds of cormorants. I should look that up, it's easy enough.
