Yesterday's forecast was for "wintery mix" so I went outside to look for blooms before it started. The below freezing temperatures and wind had already knocked down the only Daffodil brave enough to open.
The Hellebores are blooming, but they do not look happy about the colder-than-usual weather.

This is the view from my porch this morning, looking down my driveway towards the road. We had freezing rain overnight. It is 22F (-5C) and sleeting now at 9:00am, with snow forecast for later in the day.
I just keep telling myself, "Spring is coming! Spring is coming!"
Happy Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day!

It has been so cold here that even indoor plants are not happy near the windows!
ReplyDeleteOh, my heart broke when I saw the droopodil...I mean, the daffodil. I'm not even sure the hellebore will survive - the snow may not becoming soon enough. Hoping your pipes don't freeze, and that you have a happier March GBBD.
ReplyDeleteI meant the hellebore flower..the plant should survive. They survive our upstate New York winters.
DeleteYou are closer to it than we are.
ReplyDeleteSpring won't show here before mid-April.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll see a turn toward warmer temperatures soon, Lea!
ReplyDeleteYes Yes Spring is coming----It's around a corner somewhere! Don't give up hope. LOL

Nice to see that Daff! Snow and ice here in KY. No flowers for a while.
ReplyDeleteThe lone Daffodil is a welcomed sight and brings hope of spring on the way. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteFun to see flowers! Stay warm!
