Ring-Billed Gull, February 22, 2017

ABC Wednesday, Wild Bird Wednesday, and I'd Rather B Birdin'
G is for Gulls - Seabirds of the family Laridae

Fulton, Mississippi, USA, January 30, 2017
The Ring-billed Gull, Larus delawarensis, is a medium sized Gull commonly seen on inland bodies of water as well as along the ocean beaches of North America. You may even see them foraging for insects and worms in newly plowed fields.

Fulton, Mississippi, USA, January 30, 2017
They are graceful, acrobatic flyers able to quickly grab fish from the water. In the Spring they migrate north to their breeding grounds in Canada; then they return South to spend the Winter months in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands.

Have a wonderful day!

  1. Hello, I love to watch the gulls. They are beautiful in flight. Great shots.
    Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!

  2. Lovely photos and post for G ~ love the gulls ~ thanks,

    Wishing you a Happy Day ~ ^_^

  3. ...I like the shot in flight.

  4. I love seagulls ! They are such clever birds, and then they remind me my holidays in England !

  5. A great picture of the bird in flight!

  6. Love the last pic spreading its wings!

  7. I wish I knew my gulls better. I have lived on the water my whole life and have always dismissed gulls as gulls. I should know all their names! We get these ring-bills here once in a while.

  8. I like gulls - but we only have 3 regular species of them here, and one is very, very common.

Always a bit of fun to see them when I travel - although naming them can be hard!

    Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
