Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day February 2017

ABC Wednesday
F is for Flowers

Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day
Northeast Mississippi, USA zone 7

We have been blessed with a mild Winter: night temperatures below freezing with pleasantly cool days, and a good mixture of sun and rain. But we don't forget that Winter sometimes gives us snow in February before we get to Spring.

  8. Your bright yellow Daffodils are a welcomed sight! We are in the same hardiness zone, so it is interesting to see how far ahead of us you are. We won't have them for a couple of months. Happy Bloom Day!

  11. At least I saw Carolina Jessamine during a January visit to Charlottesville, VA. Otherwise, I am so starved for outdoor flowers. I can't wait for spring. After viewing your blog, I feel so much warmer. (and, I wish jessamine would grow in my zone 5b garden. Alas.)

  12. A good showing. I like that spirea. Do you know which variety it is? I wonder if it would grow in my zone 6a garden? Thanks for joining in for bloom day!

    1. I am not absolutely certain, but I think it is 'Ogon' It is listed for zones 4-8, so it should do well for you. As a bonus the leaves turn a golden-reddish color in the Autumn.
Thanks for your visit and comment on my blog.

    1. The Carolina Jessamine does have a slight fragrance, not enough to smell just walking by it, but if you get really close, yes - fragrant

  19. I love how yellow flowers cheer people up following all the cold winter weather. Ours are just starting to grow out of the ground here.
