C is for Coca-Cola
January 27, 2014, Amory, Mississippi, USA |
But over time many have been lost. This one was restored in 2010.
I'm not sure of the original date, but 'Delicious and Refreshing' was the official slogan in 1904.
It adds a bit of history to this pretty little park squeezed in between two buildings in Amory, MS.

ReplyDeleteVery cool mural--Coke is my soda of choice.

Although I have given up soft drinks, I still remember Coke as "the pause that refreshes" on a hot summer day! That's a nice photo of a bit of nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture. I've seen a similar one in Trenton Florida.

Hi Lea, that is a great shot of the Coca Cola sign. Glad they restored it.
ReplyDeleteHmm…not sure if I can appreciate that in the same way Americans might be able to :-)
ReplyDeleteYou do not see these signs very often anymore.
ReplyDeleteA very recognizable sign!
ReplyDeleteHi Lea, I have a quick question for your. How are your hellebores?? Mine did not like this cold, and are flat as pancakes, and I'm seeing dark spots on their leaves. This is the first time I've grown them (I didn't pay much attention to my mom's plants), so I don't know if this is normal or not.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reply on my blog Lea! Thanks Lea! Mine have new growth, but no buds, and I didn't think to cover them before our surprise snow. I knew they grow up north, and you're right, it makes more sense now why they trim them back. Hopefully they'll recover, and if the leaves don't perk up, I'll trim them back this spring after it warms up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know I'm not alone!
I like the shadows more than the mural
ReplyDeleteFantastic. I love nostalgic signs.
ReplyDeleteMy husband has a huge coca-cola collection.
ReplyDeleteA real antique advert.
ReplyDeleteCool sign. I love it when old signs like this get restored.
