Add sliced pears and stir to coat well

Fold edges of pie crust up over the pears, leaving the center open
Sprinkle with the additional teaspoon of sugar
Bake at 400F for 25 to 30 minutes or until pastry is lightly browned
Sprinkle with sliced almonds and return to oven for 5 more minutes
Cool on wire rack. Can be served warm or cold.

  7. Thank you! I still have pears and must try this.

I forget now what I saw blooming the other day and thought the plant had lost it's mind.

  10. That looks delicious. I did an apple tart like that once. It was a lot quicker than a pie and just as tasty. - Margy

  16. I've never grown okra before, so I had no idea it had such lovely blooms. The pear tart looks so elegant, but the recipe sounds quite simple--my kind of baking!

    1. Perhaps with apples adding cinnamon to the sugar/flour mixture would be good. I think I'll try that next. Thanks for the suggestion!
