Canna Lilies
Actually, Canna Lilies are not lilies at all. They are cousins to the Bananas and Gingers.
These grow very tall, and they will have reddish-orange blooms later in the summer
Looking straight down at the spiraling lines make me feel slightly dizzy.
Much better to look at the leaves from the side!
These are planted on a north-facing slope in part shade,
so the sun sometimes highlights individual leaves.
If anyone knows which Canna this is, please let me know.

I like the touch of red in the leaves. I enjoy plants that give contrast to all the green in my yard.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. They look good when the leaves are tightly wrapped up too.
ReplyDeleteI love the tropical look of those Cannas! I'm not sure which variety that one is but it is definitely a stunner!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful plant !
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are lovely - especially when the light shines through them.
