Easter Sunday Scavenger Hunt April 8 2012

This week's Scavenger Hunt prompts are: New, Life, Fragrant, Pink, and Obvious.

New:

A new shrub for my yard - Nandina domestica 'Seika'
Life:

Happy Easter!

Fragrant:

Fragrant Sweet Shrub 

Pink:

Flowers growing on the side of the road.


Phlox, maybe?

Obvious:

With all the flowers blooming, obviously it is Spring!

    1. The fragrant flower is Calycanthus floridus, commonly called Carolina Sweet Shrub. It is a bushy type plant, growing to about 6 feet tall. It may have other common names in some parts of the United States. The fragrance, which may vary from plant to plant, has a fruity aroma. It reminds me of apples.
