Osprey

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, August 6, 2024
I saw this Osprey, Pandion haliaetus, near the Pickwick Lock and Dam on the Tennessee River yesterday.

Have a wonderful day!

I am linking in today with Wild Bird Wednesday

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"Know ye that the Lord he is God; it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations" Psalm 100:3-5

  2. Oh, they are wonderful birds. We have several nests in the area, and it's fun to observe the adults and the youngsters when they're preparing to leave the nest.
