Male and female American Goldfinches, Spinus tristis, at my feeder this morning. They are widespread across the United States, and their breeding range extends northward into Canada.

  7. I see those along the boardwalk in August. Such sturdy looking little birds. They land in the seaweed along the shoreline at low tide.
