Wild Bird Wednesday and My Corner of the World

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 3, 2022
Our first snow of the season came Sunday night; not a big one, just enough to remind us it is Winter! I made this photo of two male Northern Cardinals, Cardinalis cardinalis, from my front porch.

Happy Wednesday!

  6. Nice closeup. I've never seen two males at the same time, although we have neighborhood cardinals. We have a pair that visits our feeder. They are so pretty against the snow.

  8. Wonderful birds - I've been lucky enough to see this species on a couple of trips to the US.

    Hope all is well.
