Northern Mockingbird, December 8, 2021

Our World Tuesday, My Corner of the World, and Wild Bird Wednesday

Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, December 5, 2021
Northern Mockingbirds, Mimus polyglottos, are well-known from the southern edge of Canada across much of the United States and southward into Mexico. They are ground foragers who eat a wide variety of insects and berries. They are loved for the length and variety of their songs. If you think you hear a chorus of birds, it may be just one Mockingbird!

I hope you are having a wonderful week!

I am linking in today with Our World Tuesday, My Corner of the World, and Wild Bird Wednesday

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they? Matthew 6:26

"Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7

  1. One of my favorite birds. I don't think I've seen one since moving to NH. There was a bird at the feeder this morning I can only speculate was some sort of grosbeak. Must look it up.

  3. They are awesome birds! We occasionally have them here in S. Wisconsin, but I remember they were plentiful in Florida when I used to visit my parents down there. Great photo!

  6. Mockingbirds are delightful. I wonder how many people automatically think of Harper Lee when they hear the word!
