Love the last photo of the Tiger Lily! Happy GBBD :)
ReplyDeleteI have high hopes for my "turk's cap" this year, which was called "sleepy hibiscus" by the person who gave it to me. It hasn't bloomed for years but I moved it into more sun this year. Maybe it will bloom again.
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos of some beautiful plants in your gardens... I especially like the Mimulus... Larry
ReplyDeleteWhile entering your site this time I was struck by the zone 7 designation. I had automatically assumed that Mississippi would be zone 8 at least. I see by looking now that some parts are more like Tennessee which is not so different from our Maryland zones. Still it surprises me. Certainly Rose of Sharon has begun blooming for us as well so that would argue for similarities. I'll have to pay more attention.
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers and gorgeous photos! I especially liked your Rose of Sharon, Hibiscus syriacus. Did you know that here in Britain where I now live, Rose of Sharon is the name of a completely different plant, Hypericum calycinum! Quite confusing, as before I moved to Britain I was also used to call Hibiscus 'Rose of Sharon'... took a while to get used to that :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see so much blooming in your garden. When I lived in New Orleans we called hibiscus, hibiscus. But when I moved to New Mexico, we call hibiscus, Rose of Sharon. I love them by whatever they're called.
ReplyDeleteYou just can't beat the old tried and trues for dependable bloom in these Mississippi summers.I love them all.
ReplyDeleteI love your phlox! That's one plant that keeps coming up on my wish list for my garden. There is major planing to be done this fall and next spring, and seeing your part of zone 7 just makes me excited :)
ReplyDeletePretty and I'm sure your flowers enjoyed the rain.
ReplyDeleteThe phlox is a particularly nice colour. I like the Airplane plant, I hadn't heard of these. The butterfly shot is lovely.
ReplyDeletePhlox is such a great summer flower--ours is full of blooms, thank goodness, because the rest of the garden is looking tired. The photo of the tiger lily is stunning--just gorgeous! Happy GBBD to you!
ReplyDeleteLove the Mimulus and the airplane plant. Have tried to grow the Mimulus here without success.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous...I just adore Tiger Lilies!
ReplyDeleteSome fantastic photographs, and a really spectacular garden you have.
