At The Lake, February 6, 2018

Our World Tuesday and All Seasons

Pickwick, Tennessee, USA, February 5, 2018
What is that long black streak in the middle of Pickwick Lake?

I zoomed in on a small section of it and discovered it is a large flock of American Coots!
A birder more experienced than I estimated there to be about a 1000 birds. Coots are migratory. As Winter gives way to Spring, they will go north to nest and raise their young.

Have a wonderful day!

Today I am linking up with Our World Tuesday and All Seasons Why don't you join us?

2. The Most Interesting Thing I have Seen This Week
Tupelo, Mississippi, USA, January 25, 2018
An electric car getting its batteries recharged. To encourage people to purchase electric cars, this is a free service. If you can forgive the terrible pun - it's a no-charge charging station!

Romie's Grocery Restaurant on West Jackson Street: "Put a little South in ya mouth"

4. Learn Something New Every Day
When I think of Wisconsin I think of their dairy herds and their wonderful cheese. This is the first time I have heard of competitive water skiing in Wisconsin.

Thankful Thursday and Little Things Thursday

Prentiss County, Mississippi, USA, January 28, 2018
Today I am thankful for Hellebores that give me flowers in the Winter! Sleet and snow slowed them down a bit, but now the sun is shining, and the buds are almost ready to open.

Have a wonderful day!
