Winter has been unusually cold here in the southern part of the country (US zone 7), too.
Even my Pansies have been nipped back. Hopefully they will be blooming again soon.
No blooms can be found, but I do have some buds to show for this January Bloom Day.

From a distance the Spirea shrub appears to be still dormant. But look closer!
Very tiny buds are getting ready to open. Even though the buds are red, the flowers are white.
This photo is highly enlarged. They really are the smallest buds you can imagine.

| Carolina Jessamine |
The top one-fourth of the Jessamine Vine froze, but down near the base, buds are forming.
I do hope these are flower buds, and not just new leaves.

| Hellebores |
You can't really see it yet, but inside this cup of new leaves is a Hellebores bud!
