Macro Monday and Mellow Yellow Monday October 29 2012

It has come through a year of wind and rainstorms, drought and insect attack,
and now freezing temperatures,
but still beautiful!

Happy Monday!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday October 28 2012

This week's prompts are:
Patterns, Machine, Signs or Logos, Rocks or Stones, and Sparkle.

Patterns:
Crape Myrtle, Lagerstroemia
This tree sheds its bark each year to reveal splotchy patterns on its trunk and limbs.
A visual treat in the Winter landscape.

Machine:

From my archives, April 14, 2012
Signs or Logos:

Natchez Trace Parkway Visitors Center, Tupelo, Mississippi

Rocks or Stones:
This unusual rock formation seems to be delicately balanced,
but it is really very stable and safe.
Glenrock Branch Picnic Area, Natchez Trace Parkway, Tennessee, USA

Sparkle:

I love the sparkle of early morning sunlight!

Since the Epiphyllum Night Blooming Cactus flower is open for one night only,
I'll be closely watching this bud.
Perhaps it will open on Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day (the 15th).
