Colder Temperatures Moving In, January 3, 2014

Hay Field, Thursday, January 2, 2014, Lee County, Mississippi, USA
New Year's Day was sunny and mild, but yesterday the temperature had dropped to near freezing by mid-afternoon on the way down to a predicted low of 18F. But the real shocker
comes on Monday. The forecast is for a high of 23F and a low of 7F. For you Celsius folks,
that is minus 5C and minus 13C. Seriously cold for our part of the country!

Happy Sky Watch Friday!

Well at least it's suppose to be the warmest day of the week before the temps drop on Monday.

    Happy Weekend.

  5. That is a pretty photo with the white fluffy clouds. But those temps sound more than a little chilly. Button up your overcoat! Our temps have been unseasonably warm here. It should be good gardening weather, but rose pruning is on the agenda, and pruning is not one of my favorites!

  8. Lovely photo :-)
Wrap up and stay warm – think of spring and read seed catalogues, just a few tips for the coldsnap!
    Take care, Helene.

  9. What a tranquil scene! I've been forgetting to do any Skywatch posts, Lea. It is predicted to be quite cold here Sunday and Monday, too, below 0 F. I didn't realize how far south the cold was extended. I hope you don't have plants damaged.

  10. Cold or not...this is a lovely shot! I have to admit...I'm loving the lack of snow here in the Eastern Sierras in California...even though it's not good for our ski economy... I feel for you and those minus temps!!! We're cold, but not as cold as you...although about a month ago we were even colder than your temps for about a week or so. Hope you stay warm!!! My kitty says sitting by a heater vent is the best way to stay warm!!!
